DALLAS, TX, August 7, 2018 – Phynd Technologies, Inc., the leading health care provider information management platform, today announced the release of Phynd 3.2, which includes powerful new software capabilities for managing provider health plan participation and network affiliation.
Health systems using the Phynd platform enjoy highly-accurate, detailed, continuously curated provider information including specialty, subspecialty, clinical terms, and provider locations. Phynd's expanded health plan participation and network affiliation tracking tools are designed to support accountable care organizations (ACOs), value-based care physician and hospital networks, and other clinically integrated networks participating in fee-for-service, risk-based contracts or alternative payment models (APMs).
"These new health plan management tools help health systems improve operational performance, enable consumerism, and fully support health systems' efficient transition to consumer-based healthcare and value-based care," said Tom White, CEO of Phynd. "Thanks to Phynd, health systems and patients alike will now know which providers are in or out of dozens of health plans, clinical networks, and ACOs."
Today's health care providers constantly change affiliations, according to industry research, and participate simultaneously in more than 20 health plans, clinical networks, and ACOs. The constant churn and growing sprawl of provider participation greatly taxes health systems' network management, marketing, patient access, and revenue cycle teams, which require accurate provider information. Dramatic health plan and network growth – nearly 30 percent of health systems will launch their own plans in the next 5 years – calls for an immediate solution.
"UNC Health Care's clinically-integrated network of physicians, hospitals and agencies delivers high-quality patient-centered care while helping to control costs," said Mark Gwynne, MD, interim President and Executive Medical Director of UNC Health Alliance.
"Phynd is a strategic platform for our team's day-to-day provider profile and network management, and allows us to efficiently coordinate care among UNC Health Alliance aligned providers as we expand our presence across North Carolina," said Robb Malone, PharmD, System Vice President of Practice Quality, Innovation, and Population Health Services at UNC Health Care.
Phynd 3.2's Health Plan management platform allows teams to create a library of all regional health plans, and to associate individual providers, practice groups, and locations with plans in which they participate. The Health Plan capability lets administrators manage and track per-provider and per-practice group participation start and end date.
"Phynd supports full Health Plan offerings and tiers, reporting, and options for Accepting Patients," said White. "This support results in an enhanced Find a Doctor website experience, as well as improved scheduling and billing functions in Epic, Cerner, and other systems."
Phynd's sister network management capability, built on the same platform as its Health Plans software, will be available in the second half of 2018.
